The GINI x Omek Meetup Utrecht is a one-of-a-kind networking event for bicultural professionals of African descent in Utrecht. Created to foster community, identity and connection, this gathering offers space for real stories, shared experiences and meaningful relationships.
Rather than formal name tags and business cards, the meetup centres around storytelling, deep conversation and collective reflection a networking space where authenticity leads.
With a maximum of 30 participants, the setting remains intimate and personal. Whether you’re looking to expand your professional network, reconnect with your cultural roots or simply be in community with like-minded people, this is your invitation.
The event includes a storytelling session, free-flow networking and an optional shared lunch, all designed to make you feel seen, heard and celebrated.
GINI believes that travel should remember, restore and reconnect us to stories that matter.
It should be a way to engage deeply with place, honour the past, and support a more just and inclusive future, especially by helping to rewrite the narratives that have long been distorted or erased.
That’s why we offer journeys and experiences that go beyond the surface, rooted in community, shaped by lived histories and carried by the power of decolonial travel and storytelling.
All our experiences are built on three pillars:
The GINI x Omek meetup is a powerful expression of these values, creating space for bicultural professionals of African descent to connect, reflect and share stories that matter.
It’s more than just a networking event. It’s part of a wider movement to centre care, truth and community in how we gather and to honour identity not as a footnote, but as a force!
This is what GINI stands for: connection that decolonises, community that uplifts, and experiences that truly leave an impact.
