VIRGINIA

Building spaces for connection, remembrance and new futures

Virginia Scheele is founder of the GINI ecosystem and works at the intersection of identity, culture, heritage and human connection. Through travel, storytelling, dialogue and public initiatives, she creates spaces that explore belonging, cultural remembrance, systems change and the courage to build new ways of living and connecting.

Virginia brings a warm, sharp and grounded presence to conversations around identity, culture, entrepreneurship, systems change and human connection.

Author

Alongside building the GINI ecosystem, Virginia’s personal journey has also deeply shaped her writing.

Building mission-driven ventures and community initiatives came with significant personal sacrifices and periods of instability, forcing Virginia to rebuild parts of her life while continuing to carry the vision behind her work forward. These experiences, alongside a life shaped by moving between cultures, systems and identities, now form part of the foundation of her writing.

Virginia is currently writing Unrooted, the first part of a planned three-part autobiographical series exploring identity, belonging, inherited systems, resilience and the search for home and connection in a rapidly changing world.

Alongside these autobiographical works, she is also developing a dystopian fantasy series exploring themes such as power, collective memory, inequality, systems collapse and future-making.

Over the coming years, writing and audio storytelling will become an increasingly important part of her work alongside speaking, storytelling and building the GINI ecosystem.

The first book is currently expected around 2028.

About Virginia Scheele

Virginia Scheele is a Dutch founder, storyteller and moderator with Indian, Afro-Surinamese and Dutch roots. Her work explores identity, migration, belonging, cultural remembrance and the ways people move between worlds, systems and communities.

Virginia holds a background in science, arts and business, which continues to shape her interdisciplinary approach to storytelling, systems thinking and community building.

Originally, Virginia dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, but her path eventually moved towards science, arts and business instead. This multidisciplinary background, combined with a lifelong connection to animals and nature, continues to shape her perspective on care, systems, storytelling and the world around her.

Her work combines strategy with storytelling, systems thinking with human connection and cultural reflection with practical execution.
